Covington is the founder of the Democratic Women of the Southland Region and the first female mayor in the 44 year history of the Village of University Park and in Will County since its establishment.

KaTreal Carter Brown holds a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Communications. Brown works as a Project Controls Specialist for Fermilab National Laboratory. Brown enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Trena Perkins
Trena Perkins, from Chicago, with over 25+ years of telecommunication experience with 17 years at AT&T as a Technical Project Manager. Perkins has interest in personal finance, culture, music and travel. Perkins resides in Central Florida. Perkins holds a M.A in Business Administration.

Laila Robertson
Robertson is pursuing a degree in Business Management, lead and assist teachers in preschool settings and work for Planned Packaging. Robertson is currently working towards building a career in music.

Erik Weeden
Weeden works for Planned Packaging in Illinois and lead driver of a trucking logistics team.

Teresa Freelon
Freelon is a Chicago native and entrepreneur. She holds a Bachelors Degree in English/Writing and a Masters Degree in Technical Writing. Freelon is an alumna of Goldman Sachs' One Million Black Women in Business Small Business Accelorator Program, advocate for alopecia awareness and an active Life/Ruby Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
