2026-2027 IBHM BOARD MEMBERS

Tammy Gibson is an entrepreneur, author, black history educator. Gibson travels extensively to raise awareness of African Americans erased from the history books. Gibson holds a B.A. in African American Studies.​

Lilly Chapman is an Executive Administrator to the Superintendent for Dolton School District 148 and real estate broker for Keller Williams. Chapman holds a B.A. in Business Administration and a M.A. in Human Resource Management.

Lilly Gibson is a Childcare Provider and Country Club Hills Park District Commissioner.​

Apreal Williams served 33 years in the Finance Department at the Village of Matteson, mentee for Country Club Hills Mentoring Program PTW “Prove Them Wrong and Country Club Hills Park District Commissioner.​

Covington is the founder of the Democratic Women of the Southland Region and the first female mayor in the 44 year history of the Village of University Park and in Will County since its establishment.

KaTreal Carter Brown holds a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Communications. Brown works as a Project Controls Specialist for Fermilab National Laboratory. Brown enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Receo Gibson is a Author and Illustrator of @endjinnquest and Onsoru-Go! that is dedicated to creating a world where fantasy and reality blend seamlessly, offering an escape into a universe where the impossible becomes possible.

Samira White is a mother, curator, advisor, Black history enthusiast and skin care expert.​

Trena Perkins, from Chicago, is a project manager with Perkins has interest in personal finance, culture, music and travel. Perkins resides in Central Florida. Perkins holds a M.A in Business Administration.
